Text messages on iPad

Not sure what I did but all of a suddenly text messages are also going to iPad as well as iPhone. How do I stop on iPad

Turn off iMessage on the iPad. Odds are when you updated the iPad to iOS 6 you signed in with the same iCloud login on both devices. That automatically turns on iMessage.
