Text Message box issue : record with time showing

Hello.
Ive got an iPhone 5S.
All updates are current to 10-19-15.
In the text message screen, I'm getting a gray screen with a time counter to the right where we type our message to be sent.
Ive looked everywhere in settings to toggle it off but not locating it.
What I end up doing to remove it is to turn off then back on my 5S.
How can this be removed and resolved?

I assume that this is what you're seeing.

Try going to Settings>Messages and turn on and off Show Subject Field.

Hmmm... this is interesting!
Was not aware of this toggle's function.
Now I have an added feature : Subject, then an area for my writings.
Will that gray bar now not appear again now to that I have selected Show Subject Field?

What struck me was the fact that it is not there in that field until some time throughout the day; then it appears.

It shouldn't appear but if it does just switch the subject field on and off again. Did you notice that the problem only appears when replying to an existing message, not when sending a new message?

Yes. I did indeed notice this.
