synchronization starts very slowly

The iPhone 4 worked fine for a long time. Now synchronization is very slow. Often it does not start at all.
I realized that the space of apps shown in iTunes is 8,6 GB, but the space of the individual apps as shown in the list of apps in iTunes adds up only to 1,5 GB. (The capacity of my iPhone 4 as shown on iTunes is 13,75 GB).

- Is it normal that the apps take so much more capacity (8,6 GB) as the sum of their individual size (1,5 GB)?
- What can I do to speed up synchronization?

Try first to clean up the device with an excelent app called Icleaner.

Thank you for your advice. Unfortunately I was unable to solve the problem this way. Finally I took the radical way to delete all apps and to reinstall them afterwards. But thank you anyway. Fritz

Well its Cydya app, so you can get it only if you have JB phone.
