stuck on recovery mode

hi,
I wonder if someone can help me. I have this 3g which i have been using it for last 3 years, It was jailborken and unlocked. until last week by mistake i synched with itune and since then it went into normal recovery mode (showing the usb end with top itune logo and there is lock sign)
Since then i tried to hookup my iphone with my computer, after doing its bit it tells me that the iphone has been restored. It had 4.2.1 and base band 05.15.04.
I dont know how to get back to normal working order.

I had the same thing happen to me and i had to hook up to itunes again and it picked it up and detected it was in recovery mode and restored it then i did it again and it said there was an update for it to 5.0.1 and i took that and we were all good then ... hope something here helped.

I tried hooking up with itune and it tells me it is in recovery mode and after syncing it tells me your i phone has been restored to factory resetting.
I dont know what to do next.

i was trying tiny umbrella as some one suggested and now i am stuck with error 3194.
