Streets of Rage 2 Lands in the App Store

Retro gaming fans will be pleased to know that SEGA has this week released a new version of the side-scrolling, beat-em-up Genesis/Mega Drive classic Streets of Rage 2 for iPhone and iPod touch. The most beloved game in the legendary series, Streets of Rage 2 sees the player fighting the evil crime boss Mr. X in a series of street battles, set against a complex plot and fast gameplay. Streets of Rage 2 on iPhone/iPod touch also comes with the original Japanese version of Bare Knuckle II, and includes multiplayer capability via Bluetooth. SEGA says that it will also be releasing more classic games for iPhone/iPod touch throughout the spring and summer, including Golden Axe 2 and 3, as well as Streets of Rage 3. I’m still holding out for an iOS release of Shenmue I or II from SEGA, or even a brand new Shenmue iOS game, as has been rumoured. Who’s with me?!
