UPDATE: EMAILS WERE CONFIRMED AS FAKE.

One of the readers over at BGR, CODENAME: "Tom", posted a video on YouTube showing the reception issue with the antenna. Apple reached out to him directly and had an interesting conversation with him. The conversation goes back and forth between Tom and "dictator" :) Steve Jobs. Steve is still pulling the "there is no reception issue" excuse:

Tom:
When we spoke, you would not tell me that there is a fix for this phone?
A friend just sent me this: Leaked: Apple’s internal iPhone 4 antenna troubleshooting procedures
I assume there is no fix then. If this is legit, I have lost all respect for apple and just want to go back to Verizon and get a nice Android phone. And don’t tell me they have the same issues, all our co-workers with Androids are just mocking us right now…. “Hey, I am going to go in the basement and continue my call. You can use my office on the 2nd floor so you can get a signal”. You are going to kill your brand over one product. Apple is coming off arrogant and rude. If there is no fix just tell people so they can return their phones. We have work to do. I have bought just about every apple product made in the last 20 years and this is the 1st time I am ashamed to be a MAC fan.
This is just sickening,

Jobs:
No, you are getting all worked up over a few days of rumors. Calm down.

I am really insulted… “Calm down”…. “rumors”… What arrogance. This is will be marked as the begging of the end of Apple. Seriously, DO THE RIGHT THING. I just had dinner with 3 people who had iPhone 4s we all cant make calls without dropping. There is no rumors it is reality.

Jobs:
You are most likely in an area with very low signal strength.

Tom:
Stop with jackass comments. I have has every iphone made. They all had a bad signal but this is the so much worse X3. The whole country is is in a “low signal strength” in reality… all but apple campus and your house it seems? AT&T maps are a joke. I am in “excellent” to “good” coverage and on my iPhone 1, Iphone 3G, and my iPhone 3Gs, I could at least make a telephone call. After all, it is a phone. Iphone 4…. 5 bars….. touch the phone… ZERO bars call drops.
Steve. IT DOES NOT WORK! Geezzz I hope this this is not really you. Are we on a different MHz? I have yet to see an iPhone [4] work in Richmond when you hold it in your hand. It is not “isolated”. I was a big fan. But I am done.

Jobs:
You may be working from bad data. Not your fault. Stay tuned. We are working on it.
Sent from my iPhone

Jobs again:
Retire, relax, enjoy your family. It is just a phone. Not worth it.

Alright, so any new information, not really. It is really interesting how Steve has not said anything about a solution, they are working on one, or a better excuse. After this we can all agree that Steve jobs is the J.J. Abrams of the iPhone world, can we not?

Hmm... I'm not too sure about the authenticity of this "conversation".

jobs is wrong. its not rumors, how can it be rumors when thousands of people are complaining and reinacting the problem on youtube. its all right there in front of his face

I agree, this just smells of arrogance. Jobs and Apple need to step up and offer a real solution to their customers.

Well if there was a "quick fix" apple would have fixed it. I feel for the people that pre-ordered with high expectations. But for future buyers....isn't it pretty much if you don't like the flaws buy something different....

I would give Mr. Jobs a little more time on this. The phone's only been out for a little over a week and he said they're "working on it" numerous times in multiple emails. I understand the frustration as I'm one of them but you also gotta give them time to fix it.

If you've been anywhere near the internet in the past few hours, you've undoubtedly heard about a Steve Jobs email conversation in which he told an angry iPhone customer to "calm down" and that the iPhone 4 was "just a phone." That email chain, which was published on Boy Genius Report earlier, was also reportedly shopped to AppleInsider a few days ago -- for a price. Well, now Fortune is reporting that they've been told by a "a top Apple spokesman" that the emails are fake, and the exchange never happened. Of course, emails are notoriously easy to fake, and Apple has not been in the habit of commenting on its CEO's online wanderings, so our ears pricked up when we saw this article. We've reached out to Apple and they have independently confirmed to us that the conversation is indeed a hoax. So as usual, take all of these Jobs-uncensored dialogues with a healthy grain of salt.

END THE THE STORY

The Internet is a great medium before the internet came along I had to fly to sf California Mac world spend 2000 dollars to visit not including accommodation and meals just to get information that was 6 months before we would see it in Australia.

Today that information is instant. The problem is the Internet is wide open to abuse and this type of abuse by people whom want to make money out of problems is amazing This guy that text steve jobs well was suppose to text Steve, was the same person that did the stuff on the lady that could not pay cash for an iPad He is a worm making money by selling his stuff to mags and newspapers. He is like some one doing a streaking naked at a football game to get attention. I do not tolerate people whom make money like this unfortunately while he is basking in the Bahamas lying in the sun making money from his actions the rest of the world makes yet another big thing from his post.

Lets move on let the tide come in and wait and see My experience with Apple since 1976 my first Apple and as a specialist reseller since 1993 that I can guarantee you that Apple will fix the issue because that is Apple is perfect at.

Col down under
Ps please don't ban me for duplicate post as I have responded in another post regarding same topic. Lol
