There are plenty of options for BlueTooth speakers. I use a couple of JBL Flip 6, which are small enough to fit in my computer bag and loud enough to make it worth dragging them around. But the "party boost" feature doesn't transform 2 speakers into a stereo pair. It merely sends the mono signal to both speakers.
The method for enabling stereo is to use the supplied app "Audio Midi Setup" and build an aggregate device. One speaker will handle the left channel and the other will handle the right. Once the device is built, it is a simple matter of turning on the speakers, allowing them to connect to Bluetooth and firing up the music app.
