Does anyone know if there is a tweak to get rid of the rotation lock icon in the status bar when you lock the screen rotation?

Try "no rotation status" tweak in cydia (if you have your iPhone jailbreaked already , else you need to do it)

CleanStatus is better (it removes whatever you want without respring). Springromize 2 also has the option to hide status bar icons.
