Split keyboard?

A friend's Ipad uses a split keyboard so that it's easier to use your thumbs to type. That would be really nice when using my 6+ in horizontal mode, but I can't figure out how to do it.
Is it even possible with a 6+, and if so, how do I set it up?
Help would be appreciated.

On an iPad (not on every iPad, though), this feature can be enabled in it's settings. There's not such an option on the iPhone, it's not possible to split the built in keyboard. Sorry!

Well darn. Thanks for the info but sure not what I wanted to hear. It would sure be handy if someone were to develop it for the larger phones.
