So, the phone does not have a sim card? How do you sync it to the provider.....do they do something at the store or online ?

If you buy an unlocked SIM free iPhone directly from Apple it does not come with a SIM card but you can insert a SIM card from any cellular service carrier and have it work. You can change carriers as often as you wish with no problems. You'll have to order a SIM card from the carrier of your choice and can set it up online or on the carriers storefront location.

Gotcha......I read into the remarks too far. I thought they were implying that Intel/Qualcomm had designed a chip that had the SIM features designed within the chip. Eliminating the need for a SIM card. And it would just get activated at the point of sales or online.

Guess not, but it seems like a good idea.

$649 for 32gb or more realistically $749 for 128gb. Suddenly the 64gb OnePlus 3T looks more appealing at $439.

But isn't that kind of like buying a Yugo instead of a good car just because it's cheaper?
