MacRumors reports today that Sam's Club has joined other authorised third-party retailers Wal-Mart, Target, RadioShack and Best Buy, in taking pre-orders for the new iPhone 4S. Sam's Club, which is Wal-Mart's warehouse retailer division, issued the following statement on its website, signalling the commencement of pre-orders:
"iPhone 4S will be available for pre-order at most Sam's Club locations beginning at 10:00 a.m. on October 11th on a first-come, first-served basis. Available for purchase on October 14th while supplies last."
The website also lists the price of the phone as starting at $199, and you'll also find a complete list of all Sam's Club outlets in the US where the iPhone 4S will be available while stocks last on Friday. Note that it is not available at all outlets, so be sure to check the list before you travel. You must be a Sam's Club member in order to purchase the iPhone 4S at the retailer, but it's not too late to sign up via the website prior to Friday if you're not already a member.
