Running in back ground

I've updated the IOS software. With the old system you could close programs running in the back ground does the new have the same feature?

Yes. Double-press the Home button. This will give you a row of icons with a thumbnail of each app above its icon. Simply swipe up on the app thumbnail that you want to close and the app will be removed from the multitasking list.
