Mobile stock brokerage named Robinhood opened last year to a small number of beta testers. What makes it stand apart is while most brokerages charge $7 to $10 for stock trades, Robinhood offered those trades for free. And now the company is launching an iOS app for iPhone users. Here are the main features of the app:
  • Zero commissions are available for self-directed individual cash or margin brokerage accounts that trade U.S. listed securities via mobile devices.
  • Place market orders or limit orders.
  • Your self-directed orders will receive the best possible trade execution.
  • Set up a cash or margin account.
  • Access market data and quotes in real-time.
  • Build a personalized stock watchlist with historical market data and detailed charts.
  • View your portfolio performance over time.
  • Quickly tell when the markets are open and closed, with simple color schemes.
  • Authenticate Robinhood quickly with Touch ID or set a custom PIN code.
  • Your sensitive personal information is fully encrypted using SSL.
