Capcom is going Resident Evil crazy at the moment, celebrating the series’ 15-year-anniversary across as many platforms as possible, which, I’m glad to say, includes iOS, with today’s release to the app store of Resident Evil Mercenaries VS., which is Capcom’s first online multiplayer iPhone/iPod touch/iPad game. In the game, players can choose to play as one of three legendary Resident Evil characters: Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine and Albert Wesker, across Dock, Fort and Castle maps. Each of the three characters can be equipped with a specific set of weapons, with Chris Redfield getting the Handgun, Shotgun and Hand Grenade, Jill Valentine brandishing the Handgun, Sub-Machine Gun and Flash Grenade, and Albert Wesker toting the Handgun, Magnum, Shotgun (Hydra) and Land Mine. Resident Evil Mercenaries VS. supports 2 vs 2 Online Team Match and Free For All modes via Wi-Fi/Internet and 1 vs 1 Team/Free For All via Bluetooth, as well as a single-player Training and Coin Shooter mode. Unfortunately the game is not compatible with the iPhone 3G, or the iPod touch 1st, 2nd, or 3rd gen.

that game looks pretty good, no ratings yet either. am tempted to buy it
