redsn0w crashes everytime i try to jailbreak my iphone 4

Hey guys, so here's what I'm running

iPhone 4
ios5.0.1

Computer I'm running XP

So I've downloaded redsn0w all fine, launch, follow the steps DFU etc all goes to plan and starts doing its thing, "exploiting with limera1n" etc. Now when it gets to 'stage 1', i get the old "redsn0w has experienced and unxpected promblem and must close". I've tried it 3 times so far and this is the outcome at the same spot in the process everytime.
The only way I can get my phone to turn back on is do the 'hold power and home buttons' for 4sec (Is this because until I do this it is still in DFU mode?)

What is going on here lol???

it seem to me that the link you used to download is not a valid site for redsn0w

I suggest you check our hacking section for a correct link

Every time I've had problems with red snow is when the 'phone' is not in the mode thats expected.....

So connect phone to pc, then switch off... then connect to red snow and follow the on screen guide for entering DFU.

For some reason (cos I was getting it wrong) I was suffering the same problems, but now I've mastered it then all is ok.

Practice seems to be the answer.. lol

So I am getting it from a valid site I believe.

Another dave - Entering DFU is all fine, as is following through the JB wizard, its actually when it is installing the JB it comes up with the error crash report.

I shall take a screen shot and put it up

Edit - Could it have anything to do with that fact Im just downloading redsn0w and running it, not placing it in a pwnage folder? Does anyone have any ideas on hwo I can complete the JB now? Is this a problem with my computer, if so is there something I could do to check/fix it??
