Bloomberg reports that Qualcomm has just filed lawsuits in China with the intention of banning the sale and manufacture of iPhones in that country as part of its long-running legal battle with Apple.

The lawsuit was filed in a Beijing intellectual property court, and claims that Apple infringed patents, for which Qualcomm is insisting on injunctive relief.

“Apple employs technologies invented by Qualcomm without paying for them,” said Qualcomm’s spokeswoman Christine Trimble.

The patents in question are concerned with power-management, as well as the Force Touch touch-screen technology. Trimble said that these are “a few examples of the many Qualcomm technologies that Apple uses to improve its devices and increase its profits.”

Apple spokesman Josh Rosenstock responded to the lawsuit with the following statement: “In our many years of ongoing negotiations with Qualcomm, these patents have never been discussed. Like their other courtroom maneuvers, we believe this latest legal effort will fail.”
