Please Help, obviously out of my league

I have an IPhone4 4.1 and I tried the Limera jailbreak and apparently missed a step or did something wrong. Now it won't do anything but give me the onscreen icon to connect to itunes which then prompts me to restore. The warning says all media will be lost when I restore. I have way to many pics of my son among other things to want to lose. Is there anything else I can do. THANKS

As long as you backed it up recently you should be fine. Do you recall backing it up?

To see backups in iTunes open iTunes.
Goto EDIT at the top and select PREFERENCES.
Click on the DEVICES tab to see when you last backed it up.

Thanks. It actually says earlier today, even before I had to do the restore. I hope thats good news.

What a relief, it worked. Thanks. Even though the Apple rep told me I would lose all media including pics and text messages.

Technically you DID lose all the media, however after restoring your phone to factory settings, the media was reloaded from your backup.
