Part of screen wont open apps 3gs

My apps will open on my iPhone 3GS but if they are on the bottom row they won't. Eg if contacts was on any row except the bottom one it works but if I put the apps on the bottom row they won't respond like the screen digitizer is damaged but sliding still works anywhere.
Please help
