I have the otterbox defender case.
I thought it was basically bullet proof and certainly, water proof.

Last week I was with the phone outside, and it started to rain.
A few drops got on my phone, no big deal I said.

However, it appears the phone got a few watermark streaks, and I am very disappointed.
I did not drop it in a stream, just a few rain drops.
Fortunately I think ATT has a warranty on the case, but still, has anybody else had this problem?

Geez, I thought a few raindrops would not be a concern.

The otter box defender is not bullet proof and most certainly not waterproof. You need something like the lifeproof

Thanks for that!
I almost feel now like I was ripped off for getting the ottorbox defender.
The life proof looks good, just wish it had a kickstand!

It's akrught...I have the otterbox defender and I don't even use it

I was wondering if you read anything about it or just bought it blind? Nowhere, even on the Otter Box site does it say "bulletproof" or "waterproof" unless there is a "not" in front of it...

I work in a power station as well and can relate to the fly ash on my phone. I may step it up one day and get the life proof if the price ever goes down.

I work with dirty nasty caterpillar engines all day long. I'm running just a basic ifrogs slim rubber case, and invisible shield, and I have never gotten any watermarks, or anything from the engine exhaust sticking to my phone.

I'm really not going to beat a dead horse here... but what gave you the idea that these were factual assumptions?

I'm guessing he thought that because the thing is huge and has covers for the dock connector etc as well as a built in screen cover. Give him a break.....
