MacRumors reports today that references to Nuance speech recognition software features have been found in the first iOS 5 beta. Although there was no specific mention of Nuance when Apple launched iOS 5 at its WWDC this week, there have been plenty of rumours that voice recognition integration would still be very much involved when iOS 5 is finally launched in the Fall. In fact, MacRumors notes, following the Nuance no-show at WWDC this week, Robert Scoble had the following to say under the Comments section of a story about the lack of Nuance mentions at the WWDC on TechCrunch:

“I was told weeks ago by my source (same one who told me Twitter would be integrated deeply into the OS) that Siri wouldn't be done in time. Maybe for this fall's release of iPhone 5? After all, they need to have some fun things to demo for us in August, no?”

And it looks like he was completely spot on, as now, according to MacRumors, reliable source @ChronicWire has posted the above screenshot on Twitter of Nuance Dictation preferences that were just found in the iOS 5 builds.
