not connecting for FB instant messages since ios update....

I updated my phone 2 days ago to the latest ios, and since then I can't connect for FB messages. I communicate with my daughter thru this. I am getting her messages, but can't send any. I get a bar that says connecting, and never does connect. In settings for fb, when I click on help or any other "learn more" topic, it says sorry, something went wrong.
Any suggestions? thanks...

never mind- I rebooted the phone and now it is ok.... should have thought of that first!
