BGR writes that a new leaked image that is claimed to be of the forthcoming iPhone 7 appears to show a significant change to the home button.

The new image first appeared on MobiPicker, and is purported to show the front of an iPhone 7. Generally speaking, the phone in the image looks exactly like other previous leaks, except for the home button.

Zooming in on the home button, BGR notes that it does not look like a physical button anymore, rather, it appears to be some sort of touch-sensitive Touch ID fingerprint sensor. If the image is genuine, which there is no proof about at present, then it looks likely that this Touch ID fingerprint sensor supports 3D Touch.

If this is the case, it would certainly tie in with other recent rumours stating that Apple plans to debut an all-over display next year, complete with an embedded home button.
