New iPhone (5) upgrade options with Verizon.

Here is where I am now with my Verizon contract.

Family Plan with 2 lines
Line 1 iPhone with unlimited data (me)
Line 2 is a feature phone with no data. (Wife)

My contract is up Feb 18, 2013 and I am eligible for upgrades on Oct 18, 2012 on both lines.

Assuming the new iPhone comes out sometime around Oct or after I will most likely want to upgrade to it.

Here are my thoughts to try and keep my unlimited data.

I upgrade my wife’s phone to the new iPhone and add the required data plan to her line.
Once that has gone through a billing cycle I would then change her back to her old current feature phone and drop her data plan.
I would then just replace my current iPhone with the new iPhone (5).

Bottom line is would I continue to have unlimited data on my line with the new iPhone?

Any thoughts?

yes on your line you would but not on hers anymore.
also you dont have to wait to go threw a billing cycle. you can purchase it under her account, they will put it to that account that day, when you get home you then change her phone back to the old one , and add the 5 to your account.

Yes you are correct. This one of the few ways of keeping your unlimited data package. I have actually done this myself and it works.
