Need Help resetting 3gs that is jailbroken

I'm trying to wipe all of my data without having to update to 4.3.5. As I attempt to do this through settings>general>reset>delete all data and settings, the phone just keeps displaying the circular pinwheel. This phone is jailbroken. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

What you did is correct, after its done deleting everything and resetting you back to factory settings it will reboot on its own.

Thanks for the quick response. The phone is still going round & round on the screen for about 1 1/2 hours now. I just read on another site that the method I'm trying to use doesn't work on a jailbroken phone, & will prevent the OS from operating correctly. Do you know otherwise???

I donno I've never tried resetting all settings on a jailbroken phone, try rebooting manually(hold home and power at the same time for 10 seconds).
