Hi everyone,

Every now and then (twice to be exact) - for no reason that I can see - I find a random pornographic photo on my phone.

I'm trying to find out how it got there, and was wondering if anyone would mind pointing me in a direction.

First, I'm not going to suggest that I have never watched anything R18 rated on my phone, I'm quite happy to say that I have. But the 2 photos in question I don't recognise as something I would be interested in (just to be clear, nothing illegal, just generally not something I would watch or look for).

What I've checked already:
  • When I look at "Albums", it only appears in "Recent". Not in "WhatsApp", "Screenshots", "Live Photos" or any other grouping album
  • The photos are low quality (small, but not really banner - small, and they were not obscured with any writing etc that I would expect from a banner).
  • There is no metadata I can see. There is no copyright, geodata, author or anything else I could use.
  • The photos were not uploaded to my phone from any backup (eg iCloud or OneDrive). I only use OneDrive, and the photo was created on my phone several days before being created on OneDrive.

The biggest problem I have is that my partner saw the photo in question, and doesn't believe anything I'm saying about the photo. I know I didn't purposely save the photo, but I know I would find the whole thing dodgy if the situation was reversed.

Any suggestions how I can find out where they come from? Any way that I {a reasonably tech savvy person} could have accidentally saved a file like that without knowing?

Thanks in advance for any help

Hi Dave,
Just found your query and the same thing has happened on a friends Android phone today! Did you ever find out how it occurred?
