my laptop crashed so can i hook up to a new computer?

Ok im a complete newbie to iphones and forums, so please bare with me. I had my iphone 4s running through itunes on my laptop. My laptop crashed and we bought a new one. When i bought the new laptop we downloaded itunes to it to start my wifes new iphone 4. Now i have tried to plug my iphone into it and it says that you can only be connected to one itunes library? or somthing of that sort. If I resync to the itunes on this laptop am i going to lose everything on my phone? app wise or maybe even media? I have a lot of very important pictures on my phone that i cannot chance losing. any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Did you authorize the computer? Open itunes and under the "Store" tab you will see an option to authorize your computer. Also, the next thing I would do is to change the default setting for syncing when you hook up. Edit>preferences>devices , check "prevent ipods, etc from syncing automatically"
