Do you have mms on? Settings-> messages-> then switch mms on

It has nothing to do with mms. Do you have mms messaging through your carrier?

I'm not familiar with optus, but that could the the issue if you don't have mms messaging through your carrier.

Yes that's the newest firmware, but that wouldn't be affecting the mms messaging. Unless this problem started after you updated the firmware. It could be possible the firmware was corrupted. Have you tried a hard reset?

Is your celluar data network on?

Settings-> general-> network, you should see celluar data at the top. Make sure it's on.

Are you using wifi if so thats your problem turn off wifi.
