Microsoft has been extremely busy it appears. Now, we just received word that the company has just launched SkyDrive for iPhone. SkyDrive is Microsoft’s cloud storage company, a place where users upload all sorts of information, for the purpose of it being accessed with the use of some other device, later on.

SkyDrive is also very neat because once you sign up, Microsoft offers to you 25GB of free storage to use however you feel like it. And even if SkyDrive is deeply integrated into Windows Phone, there’s no reason for it not to pass to the iPhone. The company decided to make this move because it realized that not everyone who relies on SkyDrive for sharing photos or accessing Office documents uses Windows Phone.

The iPhone version allows users the same features that the standard users enjoyed like accessing all their files in SkyDrive, creating folders, deleting folders and sharing links to folders and files via the Mail app.

Microsoft product Manager Ian Moulster also felt like he had to explain himself, in an interview with WinRumours saying that they didn’t want to leave any devices out in the cold (how generous). As a lot of people like to mix and match, Microsoft wants to make sure they can get to their content, regardless of what they use. Microsoft followed the same path with Bing, Messenger, OneNote and Xbox live. One of the best features that come with this new app is being able to store pictures at full resolution and transferring them from the phone to SkyDrive, with the picture being scaled down auto.
