Mic stopped working and lock/power button ends calls?

My phone decided the mic is not an important part of the phone, but works in speaker phone fine. The power/lock button also hangs up the phone call for some reason. Any ideas?

I am currently restoring the phone to hopefully purge anything that could have caused this issue and possibly get my phone back in order.

Took the wife's and my phone into the Apple Store more than 100mi in Indianapolis, great Genius Bar group. But the kid registering me and the wife for our scheduled appointment was not up to par. He argued that several issues with our phones were part of the way the phone was supposed to function, LOL!

Took the phone to the bar and they diagnosed both having faulty hardware in less than five minutes and brought out replacements in short order. We were in and out in 30 minutes and our 15 month old showed us that she likes the New iPad at the kids table while we waited. Looks like that will be on order soon.
