Manually installing apps

Hi,

I couldn't find an answer to my specific question in the forum so here goes.

I had an ipod touch and bought a whole load of apps from the app store.

The touch is no longer working and I now have an iphone 4.

I tried manually installing an app I had bought and a trial version worked but it said I needed to purchase again. I have 2 questions:

1.) If I click purchase on a previously bought app using my same account details will it charge me again?

2.) Can I manually install previously bought apps on my iphone from the back-up location without losing the apps I already have installed?

I can see the ipa files in the mobile applications folder but do not know where the icons are kept.

Just download apps you've previousely bought using the same account u've used to buy it before. It will say purchase and start the installation, but after verification, there will be a message on your display stating that you've already purchased that app and you can download it again for free, no additional charge involve.
