Little arrows next to battery life?

Hi everyone, yesterday in the status bar of the iPhone I noticed that there were two arrows one next to the other, one is pointing diwn and the other is pointing up. I tried respring and reboot and they won't go away so I was wondering what they're for and what do they do and also of it's something "bad" how do I take them out? Thanks a lot in advance, I'll be extremely grateful to whoever helps me.John

Try home button twice and close all apps

Can you take a screen capture of what you're talking about? It might be the upload/download indicators, which in your instance, will be green on the arrow pointing up when requesting for things, and will be orange or something on the arrow pointing down when downloading.

I've just found out that they appear when I lock the screen rotation, it's the same on the iPad, I've never noticed that! Thanks for help
