KGI Analyst Casts Doubt on Latest iPhone SE 2 Rumours

9to5 Mac reports that noted KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has today cast doubt on last week’s iPhone SE 2 rumours, and in particular, the rumour that the next iPhone model will have wireless charging capabilities, a change in form factor, and 3D sensing. In fact, Kuo is actually doubtful that an iPhone SE 2 will be released in the near future at all.

Kuo’s reasoning behind this is that Apple’s resources are currently so tied up with the complicated development, production, and release of the iPhone X model, that it will be less inclined to release a new iPhone SE model at the moment. He also thinks that wireless charging is too high-end for the budget iPhone SE range.

However, Kuo is prepared to say that even though he is not expecting Apple to release a new iPhone SE model in the near future, it’s always possible that a new iPhone SE with cheaper components and a slight processor upgrade designed to be compatible with iOS 12 could be launched in the second half of 2018, but he doesn’t sound that hopeful about it, it must be said!
