Keyboard question

Hi
This is happening A lot on my iPad 3 and iPhone 6 plus. It does not matter web browser I am using. As I'm typing in the Address bar or search box. My keyboard will disappear. I will have to click on the address bar or search box to Bring it back up. Why does this keep happening? Thank you

Are you using apple's keyboard or a third party keyboard? What keyboard? Also, what ios are you on?

I haven't looked into it myself yet but have the 6+ on ios8.1 and I noticed my keyboard did it once since updating to 8.1.

I've had mine vanish a few times. Mostly it freezes up. Either way, if I can't get it to normal, I delete the background messages app. That works for a while. It doesn't vanish much, just freezes up. Once or twice a day. I had hoped 8.1 would fix it. But it did not. I'm running 4 keyboards, including the stock and emoji.
