I have a iphone 3gs. It's been jailbroken and unlocked for over a year with T-Mobile service. Was ready to update to iOS 5 even if tethered.
Today I ran RedSnow and created custom IPSW. Put phone in DFU mode. Fired up iTunes, restored to custom IPSW. Now I'm now supposed to be able to do a tethered boot and run UltraSnow to unlock again.
Here's the problem - After restoring the custom IPSW through iTunes and I then do a tethered boot, the iPhone gives me a pineapple. After about 2 minutes, it loads up an Apple iPhone screen and asks me for the default language, location service, selects wifi (which it finds), then sees that I'm not on the AT&T network and says I need to activate. The only options it gives me is Emergency Call, Start Over, or Wi-Fi settings.
I have jailbroken it and installed custom IPSW twice now and same problem.
I'm stuck. Seems the jailbreak went wrong and I can't do a true tethered boot. Does anyone know how to troubleshoot this?
