itunes fails to run iphone backup

I have an iPhone 5 and 2 ipads and just recently iTunes fails to backup any of them with the message iTunes could not back up the iPhone "iPhone" because the backup session failed.

I am using the old iTunes ver 12.6.3.6 which still has the "App" feature.

Are you using a Windows PC or a Mac? Aparently just restarting you computer can resolve this problem. You could also try updating itunes.
