Is iPhone 4 quad band?

Hi, I have an Australian IP4 and have had conflicting info as to whether it is quad band.
I want to use it in Costa Rica travelling next month and the cell phone co there said it had to be quad band to accept a local pre-paid sim with internet package.
Can some please confirm if it is?

They also said travellers can use this same local sim in an iPad 2 and it will work.
Can anyone confirm if this is correct?

The GSM iPhone 4 is Quad Band GSM/GPRS/EDGE on 800, 850, 900, 1800& 1900 MHz. While the CDMA iPhone 4 is Dual Band CDMA on 800 & 1900 MHz. To work w/ a Costa Rican sim card... it'll need to be unlocked in one way or another.
