iPhone XR Taking Dark Pics Outside in Daylight

I took multiple panoramic shots from my paddle board today. The last 4 were super dark. I took hundreds with my 6 plus last summer and never saw dark images like these. It was overcast. Mid day. Sun over head. I have taken shots with a 6 straight into a sunset with beautiful results. Any ideas what’s up with the XR camera? Thanks

Are you using the automatic brightness or setting it manually?

Good question. I did not know how to adjust the brightness until I just searched on how to adjust brightness. I am guessing I fat fingered the “box” and brightness switch. Thanks
