DisplayMate has published its in-depth evaluation of Apple’s iPhone X Super Retina HD display, and the result is a glowing A+ report that heralds the display as the “best performing smartphone display we have ever tested.”
DisplayMates’ Dr. Raymond M. Soneira said that the iPhone X Super Retina display is the “most innovative” display ever tested by the company, citing the display’s outstanding absolute colour accuracy, highest full-screen brightness level for an OLED smartphone, highest full-screen contrast rating in ambient light, and highest contrast ratio. The display was also found to have the lowest screen reflectance and smallest brightness variation with a viewing angle.
DisplayMate begins its report by congratulating Samsung Display for developing and manufacturing the hardware used in the iPhone X display, before stating, “but what makes the iPhone X the Best Smartphone Display is the impressive Precision Display Calibration that Apple developed that transforms the OLED hardware into a superbly accurate, high-performance and gorgeous display.”
Bearing in mind that this is Apple’s first ever OLED iPhone, these results are outstanding.
