iPhone touch interface with computer

Is it possible to get a USB tunnel set up where you could potentially use the iPhone almost like an extension of either the screen or the mouse? I don't mean using a VPN or Remote Desktop app. I've tried those and they are too laggy. I want a direct connect USB tunnel if that's possible.
