An irish friend of mine gave me his old 3gs 16 gig white. He lost this phone and claimed a new one. Later on he found the phone a month later the phone company said I could not use it. So it wont accept any Irish sim cards. Perhaps one of you know how to get it working or what its relative value is to me (combining 2 iphones to get one working).

Any guidance would be greatly appreeciated

Since a replacement iPhone was issued... the best advice you're going to get is to return the iPhone to your Irish friend's wireless carrier.

thanks for the reply. it'll probably end up in the drawer

Thinking logically.

Yes I'm sure that the 'found phone' is the property of the company who supplied the new one and should be returned.. or maybe as the old phone has been found, then maybe the replacement should be returned.. lol

But the question arises, 'at whos expense' ?

My thoughts are that as its their phone then they should arrange and pay for the collection.

its relative value
.. nil
