Hi,
I've just bought the above phone off Amazon for my son for his birthday, and have noticed that the model number is A1634 whereas I have the 'world' version A1687. Does anyone know if the A1634 works OK in the UK to the same extent that the A1687 does?

Thanks

These are the bands that model A1634 supports.

1. A1634: The iPhone 6S Plus A1634 is the GSM & CDMA phone and it has the same cellular connectivity as the A1633. The phone is available on AT&T as well as some more GSM carriers in the US like Boost, NET10, Cricket, US Cellular or StraightTalk. You can also pay full price for the iPhone 6S Plus as Apple is selling it as the sim-free unlocked version. Specifically, it supports LTE bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 17, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30; TD-LTE bands 38, 39, 40, 41; GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz); TD-SCDMA 1900 (F), 2000 (A); CDMA EV-DO Rev. A (800, 1700/2100, 1900, 2100 MHz) and UMTS/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1700/2100, 1900, 2100 MHz).

Hi scifan57,

Thanks very much for that. Yes I saw exactly that info on techwalls.com a few minutes ago. I've looked at the connection specs for both models and everything is identical except that the A1634 version additionally has LTE band 30 so it *should* work just fine. I can't try it out before his birthday as the box is sealed - I guess I'm just looking for a little reassurance :)

I would open it now. Especially if it's not factory sealed.

Since this thread is from last year; the birthday is long past, the iPhone was factory sealed, and the OP hasn't been back to say how the phone worked in practice.

That's why the thread hasn't been deleted but if you post to an old thread expecting an answer from the OP you're going to be disappointed. In addition, the OP mentioned that the iPhone in question was factory sealed, making your post redundant.

I Have enough of a life that I don't sit around waiting for forum responses. And if you look, he never said 'factory sealed' just sealed. Big difference!
