Iphone 5C Bad ESN abroad

I am interested in buying an Iphone 5C with bad ESN an simlock.
I would like to know if you know if the phone will work in Europe without needing to change anything to the device.
Will it work normally and can register on itunes in Europe?Firmware updates no problem?

Hopefully somebody knows this?
