BGR reports that according to some investigative photography carried out by UBM Tech Insights, the iPhone 5’s new A6 processor is able to do what it does thanks largely to its three GPU cores, which is one less than the quad-core GPUs gracing the newest iPad. BGR says that it’s these cores that enable the iPhone 5 to handle the massive graphics and processing power that are a step up even from the iPhone 4S. BGR says that this could be a particularly significant detail for gamers, as it could mean that iOS games such as Real Racing 3 will soon rival the best that the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 has to offer, complete with real-time reflections on the cars and the sort of high-quality textures and physics that would not have been possible on earlier models. Throw AirPlay mirroring into the mix whereby you can display the games on your HDTV, and iOS gamers are laughing!
