Hello,

I’ve recently noticed that there appears to be some marks/smudges on photos taken with my Iphone 5. It only started a couple of days ago and at first I though the camera lens had become scratched but after inspection I found that it isn’t and the phone has not been dropped or damaging in any way. As you can see from the attached images, there are 4 marks (circled). Does anyone know what could have caused this and how I can correct it?

Thanks

They may very well be deposits of something on the CCD chip. If they were on the lens, they wouldn't be sharply outlined. I suggest a trip to an Apple store. If you do take it in, make sure you do a full backup of your phone before taking it in. That way, you can set up any replacement iPhone from the backup you made. Since your iPhone is still under warranty, it should cover this problem.

This happened to me. I took it in to Apple and they told me that it's actually the glass outside of the camera that is chipped. I took mine in and they gave me a replacement.
