I just bought my iphone about a week ago I'm now trying to use my iphone to connect to my ps3 but when I tried to turn the hot-spot on it told me to contact my carrier (Sprint) is there away to use the iPhone 4S to get a connection to my ps3

The "Mobile Hotspot" on your iDevice needs to be activated through your wireless provider. Tethering programs are available for Jailbroken iDevice users. However, there isn't a working/stable Jailbreak for iOS 6 as of yet.
