iphone 4 text message question

can somebody tell me how long a text message stays on an iphone 4 before it gets automatically deleted if the iphone automatically deletes messages? thanks.

The iPhone doesn't automatically delete messages. They'll be there until you delete the individual message, delete the conversation... or restore your iPhone not using a backup created while said messages where present.
