Iphone 4 speed and connectivity

Hrs up guys and gals, just had a few questions about the iPhone 4. Is there a way to improve the speed of loading apps and improving the connectivity of my 3G signal when not on wifi?

Don't know if that make sense to anyone but figured I would ask. I've tried to find a good over clock app/tweak but with no luck I haven't found anything.

Any suggestions an or comments would be awesome.
