iphone 4 - just 'died'

i have only had it for a week -its been working perfectly until today. Now, with well over 50% battery, it has completely stopped working. I cannot get it to do anything. Has anyone any ideas?

hmm try do a hard reset. hold home and on/off for about 4-5 seconds it will reset
