iPhone 4 drops contacts and duplicates others

My iPhone 4 running 4.3.2 is adding contacts in multiples and completely dropping others. When I re-enter them they magically act as if they were never gone. Does anybody know why?

Hum... I don't know why but have you tried syncing contacts again with itunes and see?

Yes it's been happening since I installed 4.3.1 and now 4.3.2
I have Mac OS 10.6.8 Snow Leopard and 10.2.2 iTunes so it shouldn't be doing this. I suppose it could be the iPhone itself?

I noticed I would have duplicate contacts when more then one email account had Contacts toggled on.

Multiple accounts with "Contacts" sync turned on is absolutely the leading cause of duplication.
