Iphone 3gs with ios 6.1.3 - wifi not working

hello all ,

this is arun from India. could somebody help me out.
i have an iphone 3gs with ios 6.1.3.
my wifi is working only when i keep the phone very close to the modem. when i go atleast a meter away from the modem my wifi in the phone is not working .
kindly provide me some solutions.

Generally metallic ones could interfere with reception and such. Try resetting your network settings on your phone, perform a hard reset and try again.

Thanks.but mine is not mettallic . once i replaced the anetenna kit due to signal probs . i think the problem is with that kit .anyway i will hard reset my phone and let u know what happens.with this i forgot my restrictions passcode.is there anyway that i could reset it?

hello , i found a strange thing in my phone. u told me to try with hard reset. i did that with itunes , when i did that my wifi worked. bu t after restoring my files and apps, my wifi stopped working , kindly help me. thanks in advance .
